Thread Veins and Pigmented Lesions

Superficial thread veins and pigmented skin lesions can be removed using Elos SR and SRA technology.  The device uses a combination of radiofrequency and intense pulsed light energies that are absorbed by the pigments in the veins and skin lesions.

The pigments then heat up and are destroyed.  This causes a temporary darkening that resolves as the bodies immune system naturally removes the damaged pigments.

Each treatment will cause a gradual lightening of the pigmented lesions and vascular imperfections, most lesions being completely removed after a series of treatments.  Usually three to six treatments are required for most lesions.

During the treatment you may feel a slight pressure when the device is activated.  This is often described as a sensation of being flicked.  The device itself has a cooling mechanism that cools the skin prior to activation, reducing sensation.

Local anaesthetics may be used to further numb the areas to be treated if required.
