Supporting Sk:n patients after unexpected closure

Alongside many patients across Scotland, we were surprised to hear of the recent and sudden closure of The SKN Group. The SKN Group included a group of aesthetic clinics branded as Harley Medical Group, Skin Clinics, Skin Brands, Skin Experts, ABC Medical and Sk:n, which have been well established for a number of years. Sk:n clinics have been treating numerous patients across the country, including in Glasgow City Centre and Aberdeenshire.

Sk:n offered a wide range of services to their patients with treatments such as tattoo removal, laser hair reduction, anti-wrinkle injections, and dermal fillers. Patients are understandably concerned about the continuation of their treatment plans, which are usually individually tailored to their skin health goals. Some of these patients may now wish to seek advice from an alternative clinic, with the support and guidance of suitably qualified medical professionals.

We too understand the challenges the aesthetics industry has recently faced and are saddened to see the effects this recent closure is having on patients and their treatment plans. The industry has faced significant hurdles over the past few years. The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented disruptions for many businesses, forcing many clinics to close temporarily and leading to delays in treatments. As the world began to emerge from the pandemic, here at Clinetix we know first-hand how tirelessly clinics like Sk:n will have worked to get back on their feet, while ensuring the safety and well-being of their patients. However, the ongoing economic climate has continued to put pressure on businesses and consumer spending, making it increasingly difficult for many to sustain their operations.

With this in mind, we appreciate the potential urgency patients may now be facing to ensure they experience as little disruption as possible. At Clinetix, we are committed to providing support and continuity for those affected by the closure. We understand that each patient’s journey is unique and requires personalised attention to maintain the progress they have made.

With our highly experienced staff and portfolio of treatments, we can offer support for those patients who are now unsure how to continue on with their intended treatment plans. Clinetix will be able to provided one-to-one consultations either in-clinic or via video call, where your previous treatment plans can be discussed alongside your skin health goals. From there we hope we can get you back on track with professional advice and as little disruption as possible.
